Yaekatsu in Osaka

Very nice kushikatsu place. Sunday lunchtime was very busy but after a short wait we where seated in front of one of the three chefs and ordered directly from him with a little help from an English menu. Especially nice was the white leek, shiitake and boiled egg. Very nice staff and quick service.

Food is below standard

No frills decor and direct, down to earth service. Very much a local spot to eat.

I’m korean.I was standing for about 30minutes and went to the Branch store.One Staff behavior is very unkind!!!!!!!!My feeling was really bad.He saw two chinses and said to other staffs “ I don’t have to give a menu. bcuz They can’t speak Japanese and laughed by japanese “If you saw my posting , you should go to head shop. ㅡㅡ

Visited here twice in my 7-day trip

I’m Taiwanese, I had bad experience in this shop, the stuff was rude to foreigners! I asked if they have an English menu, and they don’t seemed welcomed, like I’m bothering them, I won’t go there again, bc I don’t feel comfortable to have food in their shop!

Very local place. We came here with a local guide. No English menu so I suggest you do the same or learn Japanese. There is a large pot of sauce which is reused by other customers. Strict, unwritten rules to keep this sauce clean. No double dipping and all food must go into the sauce first before onto your dish. Recommended!

Situated in a brilliant Osaka market this Kusikatsu spot is very local, with bar like seating so you can watch the multiple chefs deep fry your chosen skewered food.

Great food. They have an English menu (see my pictures for further details). We spent 5040yen for two persons including 2 beers. It's only locals here so they are hostile to foreigners.

all ingredients are fresh and delicious. They provide Chinese menu. It is a foreign friendly restaurant. I especially like their mushrooms and beef. Egg and cheese also worth trying.

Absolutely must try. This kushikatsu restaurant stands out Ina and district known for its kushikatsu. It was the only one that had a long long line before opening on a Tuesday morning. Everything was perfectly cooked and fried. They do have English, Chinese, and Japanese menus and the staff are extremely friendly. Beer and fried stuff. You cannot go wrong. 11/10.

Real Osaka Kushi-katsu spot. You would see the long waiting lane in front of the restaurant, but the lane runs fast.

The most authentic Kushi-Katsu in Osaka maybe even Japan. It is not fancy and very reasonable. It is an experience.

The food is great. The fried shrimp is a must.

A local restaurant, foods are good. They provide Chinese and English menu. Better if you can speak Japanese to place order.

Nice kushikatsu experience. Remember to obey the rule including only dip food into sauce before eating.

Delicious but expensive

Their (DOTEYAKI) Simmered Beef Tendon is my Favourite dish here! My take is order their fried skewered Vegetables! If you like Crunchy bites order (RENKON) Lotus Roots! Broccoli skewer and Cheese skewer is a must!If you like Chewy highly recommend (KONYAKU) it’s kind of a jelly texture, konyaku itself doesn’t have much taste to it. So you could really taste the dipping sauce!Avoid Weiner and Ham.. not that fantastic...Cabbage is free flow! DO NOT DOUBLE DIP!When you skewers is placed on the tray, Dip into sauce then transfer it to your personal plate.DO NOT DIP ANYTHING THAT IS ALREADY ON YOUR PERSONAL PLATE EVEN IF UNTOUCH.There are signs in japanese saying “do not use mobile phones/smart phones” i took some pictures and texted a few times.. they seem chill about it.Lots of review says they aren’t friendly to foreigners.. I am not Japanese and do not speak Japanese but have never personally experienced bad service! Visited a few times, Service is not superb but no staff was ever rude.

I am Japanese, I wouldn’t recommend.I am sorry to say that, but the staffs are very rude! I never had like that experience in Japan.Overpriced. This is just famous, you can find cheaper shops with the same quality in the area.

The foods are delicious.But, the attitude makes me really disappointed.A waiter with glasses misunderstood that we come from China (actually we come from Taiwan).As he misunderstood that, he became bad in his attitude and showed face without patience.That makes me really sad.

"Yaekatu 八重勝" is famous for longest line

A lot of different styles of onsens but no mixed gender bath areas. Very plan outfits where as other places give you yukatas.

it's a popular restaurant for the local people. Everything can be fried here, for example, shrimp, oyster,beef,egg,vegetable,fish……etc

Been here few years ago and really liked their food. It's a small humble restaurant, despite the COVID season, there is still a queue outside the restaurant. The queue is relatively short as compare to my previous visit. I was very blessed to be seated next to a pair of older Japanese couple. It really depends on what you order, prices vary from 2000 yen to 5000 yen (total bill).Make sure you don't Double Dip the sauce. This is kushikatsu 101 basic etiquette.

The food was very good, one of the best kushikatsu in the area that I've tried. However, I was very disappointed by the service of the staff. Very rude and rushing us to finish eating. The worst service that I've experienced in Japan so far. I felt that the staff was giving attitude toward foreigners and not to the local japanese people. The price was pretty expensive compared to other restaurants. I've paid around 3500Yen for 2 people. I won't recommended this restaurant for all these reasons.

Delicious kushikatsu, lot of varieties, service is quick and no English menu, we have to order via Chinese menu and write down our order in Chinese words and passed to the server.Lots of locals there, early Sunday morning before the opening hour 10.30am, there are a long line of people waiting to get into the restaurant. They even have two security guards to control crowd

Yo this was a damn good kushikatsu! The batter was really light, fluffy and crunchy. They have all types of meats and vegetables and they all tasted fresh and great. Definitely try the beef. The cherry tomato was great too, it was really juicy. It was a bit expensive tho so be careful with your wallet.

Definitely would love to go again. Fried food and beer with the added bonus of no floated belly.
